Steps in on short notice
Day will take on Timur Valiev on Feb. 6, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a short-notice fight for Day, who stepped up after Julio Arce withdrew for undisclosed reasons. Day will be hoping the fourth time's the charm for him in this match, as he's lost all three of his UFC fights to date. Valiev has only fought once under the UFC banner, with his second-round TKO loss against Trevin Jones in August later getting changed to a no-contest due to Jones' positive test of marijuana.

Questionable fight IQ in loss
Day lost to Anderson dos Santos via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:35 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 18 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Day held off the relentless takedown pressure of dos Santos early, but eventually was put on his back. He ate a bit of ground-and-pound while attempted to stop dos Santos from passing guard, but eventually escaped and went for a double-leg of his own. Dos Santos caught his neck on the way down, and Day was never able to get out of it. The choke was in tight and he was forced to tap. It was a disappointing effort from the (-165) favorite, who also didn't score much for fantasy players who chose to roster him.

Scheduled for late Nov. fight
Day will take on Anderson dos Santos at the UFC event November 28, Raphael Marinho of Combate.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Day will be looking to bounce back after getting knocked out by Davey Grant back in early-July. If he were to lose this bantamweight bout, "The Spartan" would fall to 0-3 with the UFC. For this fight, however, Day enters the week as a (-175) betting favorite.

Still looking for first UFC win
Day lost to Davey Grant via KO (punch) at 2:38 of Round 3 at UFC 251 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Day was reasonably effective prior to the stoppage. He scored a massive knockdown in Round 1 before flattening Grant with a kick to the chest in the waning seconds of Round 2. He clearly appeared to be the more accomplished fighter on the feet, but Grant clocked him with a massive left hook that put Day out cold before he hit the mat. If was a disappointing effort for a fighter who spent well over a year and a half on the sidelines. Day is now 0-2 in the UFC.

New bout scheduled for UFC 251
Day will take on Davey Grant at UFC 251 on July 11, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Day lost via a controversial split decision in his debut despite landing 45 more significant strikes than his opponent. He will aim to even up his UFC record in a bout versus Grant, who he owns a two-inch height advantage and four-inch reach advantage over.
