ANALYSIS
Jones completed his latest UFC contract, and the promotion opted not to re-sign him. Across his six UFC fights, Jones won two, one overturned because he tested positive for marijuana. On top of that, Jones completed his UFC career by losing each of his last four fights.

Jones lost to Cody Garbrandt via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 285 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a winnable fight for Jones against a former UFC Bantamweight Champion, but his inactivity cost him the bout and may very well result in the end of his time with the company. Jones stood around and did nothing for the better part of 15 minutes. He picked up the pace late and had Cody in real trouble, which makes you wonder why he wasn't throwing plenty of volume at Garbrandt the entire fight. The entire thing was very strange. The end result was Jones' fourth straight defeat dating back to August 2021. It's going to be difficult for the company to run him back out there.

Jones lost to Raoni Barcelos via unanimous decision (25-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Jones wasn't the least bit competitive, with the highlight of his evening being the fact he managed to see the final bell. In face, he was credited with just 15 total strikes landed in 15 minutes. For comparison's sake, Barcelos landed 119 total strikes, plus a pair of takedowns. Jones has now competed in five fights under the UFC banner, posting a 1-3 (1NC) record. He simply hasn't displayed the ability to generate any sort of consistent offense, and with three straight losses under his belt, it seems unlikely Jones will granted another opportunity to get back on track.

Suffers second straight loss

March 12, 2022
Jones lost to Javid Basharat via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Jones showed pretty well here despite the fact it was a clear cut unanimous decision victory for the debuting Basharat. Both men landed plenty of big shots in what was essentially a 15-minute kickboxing match. The issue for Jones was the fact he connected on just 34 percent (62-178) of his significant strikes. For comparison's sake, Basharat connected on 54 percent (89-164) of his tries. Jones is a competent fighter and has definite value for a company which holds an event most every week, but Jones has now lost back-to-back fights and may need a victory his next to out to extend his run with the coming effort.
