Out for UFC Vegas 88

Grant is stepping down with roughly two weeks notice, and it remains to be seen whether the decision is due to a personal matter or injury. In his stead, Miles Johns is expected to take on Cody Gibson on March 23.

Gets no help from judges in loss
Grant lost to Daniel Marcos via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Grant's not going to be happy with this result, and he has a point. Not only did he most likely deserve the win, but there's definitely a case to be made that he won all three rounds. Grant was the more active fighter, attempting 215 total strikes compared to just 141 from Marcos. The significant strike battle was 70-49 in Grant's favor. Davey was well on his way to dropping a unanimous decision to Raphael Assuncao this past March before clamping on a miracle choke, so things appeared to even out here. That said, Grant will be 38 years of age this coming December and can't afford setbacks such as this one.

Gets relative newcomer in London
Grant will take on Daniel Marcos in a bantamweight matchup at UFC London on July 22, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Grant will look to extend his winning streak to three in front of a friendly crowd, and he'll do so against an undefeated fighter who is seven years younger but far less experienced. Both fighters have positive striking differentials and are higher on the volume side (albeit a smaller sample size for Marcos), while Grant appears more likely to mix in his wrestling. Physically, the two measure up within one inch of each other in both height and reach.
