Goes to sleep in Vegas opener
Procopio lost to Casey O'Neill via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:54 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a disappointing loss for Procopio in a fight in which she entered as a fairly hefty favorite (-170) and started off well. The Brazilian looked just fine in the striking game when the two women remained at distance, but O'Neill's strength in the clinch eventually overwhelmed Procopio. The finish came when O'Neill clamped on a standing rear-naked choke midway through Round 3. Procopio went to sleep instead of tapping out. The 25-year-old has now alternated losses and wins in her first three UFC bouts.

Uses grappling to secure victory
Procopio defeated Molly McCann via unanimous decision (29-27, 29-28, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Blessed with a significant strength and technique advantage in terms of grappling, Procopio leaned on her wrestling to secure the easy victory. All told, the Brazilian landed 7-of-9 takedown attempts. Those seven successful tries resulted in 7:58 of control time, but just an 85-71 edge in total strikes landed. Procopio also had to survive a deep submission attempt from McCann in Round 2, but it was smooth sailing from there. Procopio has very little power and is limited from an athletic standpoint, so she will have to get creative to run off any sort of prolonged winning streak. This was a strong start on the heels of a split decision loss to Karol Rosa in her company debut back in August 2019.

Set to face Molly McCann
Procopio will take on Molly McCann in a flyweight matchup on Feb. 16, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
The location of the fight is yet to be determined. Procopio will be searching for her first UFC victory, as she fell by split decision against Karol Rosa back in August of 2019 before seeing her scheduled match against Cortney Casey in May cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. McCann is also coming off a loss, as she was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against Taila Santos in July, though that followed three straight wins.

Switching to flyweight
Procopio will face Cortney Casey in a flyweight match at UFC San Diego on May 16, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Procopio fought as a bantamweight in her UFC debut, falling to Karoline Rosa back in August. Casey is also switching weight classes after fighting as a strawweight since joining the UFC back in 2015. She's stumbled to a 4-6 record with the promotion.
