Dreadful effort as favorite
Daukaus lost to Eryk Anders via TKO (punches) at 2:45 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 42 on Saturday in Orlando.
ANALYSIS
It was another dreadful performance from Daukaus, who has shown far more bad than good since his June 2020 UFC debut. This latest stinker came as a -230 favorite. Daukaus spent the entirety of the bout serving as a punching bag for Anders. Kyle's biggest issue during his time with the company, particularly of late, has been how often he gets hit and how poorly he handles it when he does. Daukaus has never really been able to get to his ground game because he's so ineffective on the feet. Now 1-3 (1NC) in his past five fights dating back to May 2021, time is running out for the 29-year-old Pennsylvania native.

Slated to fight in December
Daukaus (face) is scheduled to face Eryk Anders in a middleweight bout at the UFC's Dec. 3 event in Orlando, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Daukaus hasn't fought since June, when he took a loss to Roman Dolidze and suffered broken bones in his face that required surgical intervention. Now fully healthy, Daukaus will return to the Octagon to take on Anders, who has dropped his last two bouts. Daukaus and Anders stack up similarly when it comes to reach, but Daukaus has a solid two inches on Anders.

Recovering from face surgery
Daukaus is expected to be out for the next six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery last week to repair multiple broken bones in his face, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daukaus suffered several facial fractures after eating a knee from Roman Dolidze during their June 18 bout at UFC Fight Night, and he'll need at least six weeks to recover post-surgery before he resumes full-contact work. It's unclear when Daukaus' next fight will be, but the middleweight should be fully recovered by the time he steps into the Octagon again.

No-shows loss in Austin
Daukaus lost to Roman Dolidze via KO (knee) at 1:13 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
It was a truly abysmal showing from Daukaus in a fight in which he entered as a whopping -245 favorite. He was clipped and knocked down by Dolidze early in the bout and never seemed to truly recover. Still a bit wobbly from the first shot, Daukaus ate a knee to the face which forced him to the mat and led to referee Mike Beltran stepping in. Daukaus has shown little in his first half-dozen bouts with the UFC, posting a 2-3 (1NC) mark. No-show defeats such as this one in a fight he was supposed to win certainly won't help his cause moving forward.

Next fight in June
Daukaus will take on Roman Dolidze at the UFC event on June 18, Giorgi Kokiashvili of adjarasport.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Daukaus is coming off a submission win over Jamie Pickett back in February. Prior to that he had a few scheduled bouts that fell through. Daukaus now sports a career record of 11-2.
