You want to give Hansen the benefit of the doubt because she won't turn 23 years of age until mid-August, but not only is this her third straight unanimous decision defeat, but she missed weight by 2.5 pounds Friday morning. She had to forfeit 20 percent of her purse to Rodriguez in order for the fight to proceed. Kay was fine in the opening round when her takedowns were landing, but she offered nothing offensively the rest of the way when they weren't. There is still hope for Hansen due to her youth, but she is almost certainly looking at an extended run in Invicta or another promotion before the UFC considers running her back out there again.

She had significant trouble getting out of the starting gate and never found her footing throughout the course of the bout. Hansen submitted Jinh Yu Frey in her UFC debut back in June 2020, but has suffered back-to-back unanimous decision losses since. The California native won't turn 23 years of age until this coming August and remains one of the youngest fighters on the entire roster, but it's fair to wonder if she would be better off getting these reps in Invicta -- where she competed in nine bouts -- instead of the UFC.
