Malkoun will match up with Andre Petroski at UFC Atlantic City on Mar. 30, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Malkoun, who was most recently defeated via disqualification against Cody Brundage in September, will look to get back on track against Andre Petroski in March. The 28-year-old Australian fighter is 3-3 during his time within the UFC, and he will face a stark test against Petroski.

Disqualified as huge favorite
Malkoun lost to Cody Brundage via DQ (illegal strike) at 4:15 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a crushing blow for Malkoun and anyone that backed him as a -600 favorite, by far the largest on the entire card. Jacob was in a dominant position, reigning down blows on a helpless Brundage. One elbow eventually found the back of the head. It was clearly an illegal blow, but it was also clear as day that Brundage had zero desire to continue considering how the fight was going. Referee Mark Smith could have (and probably should have) ruled the bout a no contest, but he DQ'ed Malkoun instead. Unfortunately, Malkoun, who drops to 1-2 in his past three fights, has no one to blame but himself.

ANALYSIS
Malkoun was expected to fight Robert Bryczek at UFC Vegas 79. Instead, the former will compete against Brundage, who is trying to bounce back from a three-fight losing streak.

New opponent scheduled
Malkoun will compete against Robert Bryczek in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 79 on Sept. 23, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Malkoun was supposed to fight Aliaskhab Khizriev at UFC Vegas 79, but he withdrew from the event. So instead, Malkoun will fight the promotion's latest signing but one with nearly thrice as many fights as the 7-2 middleweight.

Wrestling game again on point
Malkoun defeated Nick Maximov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Malkoun had a brief two-fight winning streak snapped in a unanimous decision loss to the underrated Brendan Allen this past June, but he rebounded with an excellent effort here. In each of his past four fights, Malkoun has landed no fewer than six successful takedowns. He got Maximov to the mat nine times (on 13 attempts), good for 7:37 worth of control time. It's very fair to wonder how Malkoun is going to win fights if he faces an opponent that is able to stuff his takedown attempts, but that hasn't been an issue thus far. The Aussie improves to 3-2 in his first five bouts with the company.
