Misses weight
Potieria came in two pounds over the middleweight limit ahead of Saturday's fight against Marco Tulio at UFC Vegas 101, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Potieria is unlikely to make weight ahead of his fight against Marco Tulio, who is set to make his UFC debut in Las Vegas. If the fight is to proceed, Potieria will likely forfeit a portion of his fight purse to Tulio.

Booked against debutant
Potieria will fight Marco Tulio at UFC Vegas 101 on Jan. 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Potieria's loss against Cesar Almeida in October marked his fourth loss in his last five fights. If he's unable to come out on top against Tulio, who will be making his first appearance in the UFC, Potieria's future within the promotion may be in jeopardy.

Drops to 1-4 in past five fights
Potieria lost to Cesar Almeida via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 307 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a +370 underdog, second-largest on the entire card, Potieria had to deal not only with Almeida, but also the incompetence of referee Dave Seljestad. Seljestad ignored no less than three eye pokes from Almeida and also separated the fighters on multiple occasions after just mere seconds. Ihor almost certainly wouldn't have emerged victorious regardless, but he got no help. The 28-year-old Ukrainian is 1-4 in his past five fights, and his lone victory during that stretch came against Robert Bryzcek. It's going to be difficult for the UFC to run him back out there.

Set for Almeida fight
Potieria will take on Cesar Almeida at UFC 307 on Oct. 5, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Potieria was supposed to fight Sharaputdin Magomedov on June 22, but he was given a medical suspension, an injury stemming from his Round 1 loss to Michel Pereira via submission on May 4. He now has a chance to bounce back versus Almeida who recently suffered his first career loss to Roman Kopylov. Potieria heads into the fight with a 21-6 record, but only time will tell if he will be fully healthy for the clash in October.

Potieria's has been given a medical suspension and will no longer fight Sharaputdin Magomedov at UFC Saudi Arabia on June 22, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Potieria lost via submission after stepped in on short notice to fight Michel Pereira at UFC 301 on May 4. The fight was ultimately decided via standing guillotine choke just 54 seconds into the first round. But, he appartently also sustained a serious injury when Pereira launched into an acrobatic back flip that ended with his shin connecting with Potieria's face. Potieria was grounded on the mat when this sequence occurred, so some thought this would result in an illegal kick to the head against a grounded opponent. Nonetheless, the move was ruled legal, Potieria will now have to wait for a bounce-back fight after this decisive loss to Pereira.
