Steps in to face Buzukja
Marshall will take on Dennis Buzukja in a lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 96 on Aug. 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Marshall will step in on short notice to take on Buzukja, who was initially slated to fight Danny Silva. This creates a match in which both fighters are 1-2-0 in the UFC and seeking a much-needed win in the promotion. Marshall, however, has lost two straight, while his opponent Buzukja is coming off a victory over Connor Matthews in March.

No-shows Vegas loss
Marshall lost to Isaac Dulgarian via TKO (strikes) at 4:48 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Marshall dropped a split decision to William Gomis this past April but he at least made a late surge in that fight. There's absolutely nothing positive to say about his performance here against the debuting Dulgarian. Marshall gave up a takedown right off the hop and was never able to get back to his feet. His face was essentially rearranged following some vicious ground-and-pound from Dulgarian, with referee Jason Herzog correctly pulling the plug with a dozen seconds to go in the opening frame. Marshall won on Dana White's Contender Series and knocked out Marcelo Rojo in his company debut last December. Nine months later, his roster spot is in question.

Scheduled to fight newcomer
Marshall will fight Isaac Dulgarian in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 78 on Aug. 12, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Marshall will try to redeem himself after not doing enough early during his previous fight, a split-decision loss at UFC Fight Night 222 on April 22. He will take on a 26-year-old newcomer undefeated across five fights of his MMA career.

Late surge not enough
Marshall lost to William Gomis via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Marshall had problems all night getting inside against the much taller and longer Gomis. He appeared to tell his corner at one point in between rounds, "I can't hit him." To Marshall's credit, he appeared to be well on his way to dropping a clear decision before he exploded in the final minutes, landing a couple takedowns and clamping on what appeared to be two very deep submission attempts, which Gomis managed to survive. It's the first professional loss for the 24-year-old New Jersey native, who should return to the Octagon in fairly short order.

Next fight booked
Marshall will face William Gomis in a featherweight matchup, at a UFC event on Apr. 22, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Fresh off a win over Marcelo Rojo in his UFC debut, Marshall will take on William Gomis in April. The 23-year-old American fighter will look to stay perfect in the UFC when he faces off with another fighter with a 1-0 record in Gomis.
