Set to fight Barcelos
Quinonez will fight Raoni Barcelos at UFC Mexico on Feb. 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a swift loss to Kyung Ho Kang in June, Quinonez will get a chance to get back in the win column. Though Quinonez may not have much momentum, Barcelos has lost four of his last five fights dating back to June 2021.

Quickly taps out in Vegas
Quinonez lost to Kyung Ho Kang via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:25 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a wild, back-and-forth brawl for as long as it lasted. Quinonez had his moments in the early going before getting cracked by Kang, quickly giving up his back in the process. The latter responded with a rear-naked choke, and Quinonez had no choice but to quickly tap out. A product of Dana White's Contender Series, Quinonez made his company debut last September, knocking out Khalid Tafa in just over three minutes. This was a setback, but the 27-year-old should be back in the Octagon in fairly short order.

Returns against Kyung Ho Kang
Quinonez (hand) will take on Kyung Ho Kang in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Vegas 75 on June 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Quinonez made his official UFC debut last September in Paris and impressed with a first-round finish of Khalid Taha, but he suffered a fractured hand in the process and has been sidelined ever since. He now draws a bantamweight contender in Kang who has won four of his last five, but will also have spend over a year on the sidelines himself by the time the cage doors close. Quinonez will be giving up an inch in height and three inches in reach, though he does have a striking volume edge, albeit over a very small sample size.

Fractures hand in Paris
Quinonez revealed that he suffered a fractured hand Saturday in his first-round TKO win over Khalid Taha at UFC Paris, Farah Hannoun and Abbey Subhan of USA Today report.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old improved his career MMA record to 17-3-0 with a convincing victory in his UFC debut, but he'll likely now have to put his training on hold for the next few weeks while he recovers from the hand injury. If Quinonez is able to avoid surgery and the hand heals quickly, he could have a chance at fighting again at some point before 2022 comes to a close.

Strong showing in UFC debut
Quinonez defeated Khalid Taha via TKO (punches) at 3:15 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
It has been nearly a year since Quinonez earned his UFC opportunity with a win on Dana White's Contender Series, but he finally made his officially company debut here and took full advantage of it. Going up against an opponent in Taha who can't get out of his own way at the moment, Cristian connected with right hand to the side of Taha's head which essentially ended the fight right there. Referee Rich Mitchell was officially calling it a few seconds later. A win over Taha means little in the grand scheme of things, but you can only fight who they put in front of you, and Quinonez handled his business in this one.
