Heads into retirement with win

February 19, 2022
Skelly defeated Mark Striegl via TKO (strikes) at 2:01 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
One of the toughest and most likeable fighters in the sport, Skelly announced back in November that he planned on retiring following this bout. If this indeed the end, he finished with a bang. Chas got the better of a back-and-forth opening frame before blitzing Striegl in Round 2. It began with a short elbow to the face and finished with a knee which turned his opponent's lights out. Skelly mentioned in his post-fight interview with Paul Felder that he would like to be kept in the roster in case something "interesting" comes along, but said his body is simply taking too much of a beating and he enjoys his full-time job as a roofer. Skelly can still clearly fight effectively, so full marks to him for hanging it up with his future health in mind. "The Scrapper" steps aside with an 8-3 (1NC) record in a dozen fights with the company.

Skelly will face Mark Striegl on Feb. 19, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Skelly had been set to face Mike Trizano back on Oct. 9 but was forced to withdraw due to an injury. He's had four straight scheduled fights cancelled and hasn't stepped into the Octagon since he defeated Jordan Griffin by unanimous decision back in September of 2019. Striegl has only fought once in that timespan, getting knocked out by Said Nurmagomedov in under a minute back in October of 2020.

Skelly has withdrawn from his Oct. 9 fight against Mike Trizano, jon reports.
ANALYSIS
The reason for his withdraw is unclear at this point. The UFC is expected to find a replacement to keep Trizano on the card. Skelly has had his four most recent fights cancelled. He has only competed once since late 2018 when he beat Jordan Griffin via unanimous decision.

Skelly will take on Mike Trizano in a featherweight bout at the UFC event Oct. 9, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Skelly was supposed to fight Jamall Emmers back in February, but his opponent had to withdraw. Skelly's last fight came back in September of 2019 when he shocked Jordan Griffin. Meanwhile Trizano fought back in May against L'udovit Klein where he was victorious by unanimous decision.
Fight with Jamall Emmers Cancelled

February 20, 2021
Skelly's scheduled matchup against Jamall Emmers was scrapped at the last possible second after Emmers could not make the walk to the cage due to back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Skelly did his walkout and everything but was left alone in the cage for the first time in UFC history. It is unclear when we'll see Skelly or Emmers next in the Octagon, or whether Skelly will get his win bonus for making it to fight night. Either way, it's an incredibly tough break for fantasy players who rostered either fighter, as neither appear as if they will accrue points.
