No-shows loss in London
LightweightUFC
July 23, 2022
Rosa lost to Nathaniel Wood via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
This fight played out exactly as most expected, which was terrible news for Rosa considering he entered as the largest underdog on the entire card at +430. Charles had no answers for anything Wood threw his way on the feet. Rosa struggled to defend leg kicks and that left him compromised to generate any offense whatsoever. Outside of a miracle submission attempt which he nearly pulled off in the closing seconds of Round 1, Rosa was dominated from bell-to-bell. The Massachusetts native turns 36 years of age in late-August. Rosa alternated wins and losses in his first ten UFC bouts, but has now lost three straight dating back to October 2021. There is no guarantee a fourth opportunity is forthcoming.

Falls in first fight of new deal
LightweightUFC
January 15, 2022
Rosa lost to T.J. Brown via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 32 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Accepting this fight on extremely short notice after Gabriel Benitez (undisclosed) was forced to withdraw, Rosa proved to be his typical durable self, but was unable to generate enough offense to earn the decision. He allowed Brown to connect on 6-of-8 takedown attempts, which torpedoed his chances of emerging with the victory. A member of the UFC roster for more than seven years now, Rosa falls to 5-7 with the company. Oddly enough, the UFC recently handed the Massachusetts native a new four-fight contract, so Rosa isn't going anywhere despite his mediocre record with the company.
Re-ups with UFC, joins Vegas 46 card
LightweightUFC
January 12, 2022
Rosa (toe) signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC on Wednesday and is set to return to the Octagon on Saturday at UFC Vegas 46, stepping in as a short-notice replacement for Gabriel Benitez (undisclosed) while taking on T.J. Brown in a lightweight bout, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Benitez-Brown matchup was initially scheduled as a featherweight bout, but Brown (15-8-0) and Rosa (14-6-0) will have their fight contested at 155 pounds. The short-notice addition to the card isn't an ideal setup for Rosa, who went 1-2 over three fights in 2021 before his previous UFC contract expired. Rosa suffered a toe injury in his most recent bout in October, but he looks to be back to full health now.
