Pulls upset of Joshua Van
Johnson defeated Joshua Van via KO (punch) at 0:20 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
It's a nice upset win for Johnson as a +215 underdog. It also didn't come easy. Charles started strong, aided by the fact Van, as usual, seemed to take the opening round off. As expected, Van carried the pace throughout the middle portion of the fight and seemed to be in good shape going into Round 3, at which point Johnson came out on fire and landed a few massive blows, the final of which shockingly put Van away for good. The stoppage by referee Joe Coca wasn't great, but Johnson still deserves credit for a strong effort. The 33-year-old "InnerG" has quietly racked up three straight wins in the past five-plus months, and he'll walk away with a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.

Set to face Van

ANALYSIS
Johnson will look to increase his UFC winning streak to three fights and his overall record in the promotion to 5-4-0. After losing three straight bouts, Johnson has bounced back with wins over Jake Hadley and Azat Maksum. His opponent Van, meanwhile, is undefeated as a UFC fighter and will look to improve to 4-0-0.

Picks up victory in hometown
Johnson defeated Jake Hadley via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in St. Louis.
ANALYSIS
It was a big-time effort from Johnson is front of friends and family in his native St. Louis. He really pulled away from Hadley late, closing with an 88-50 edge in total strikes landed, including a 66-33 mark over the course of the final ten minutes. Most importantly, Johnson was able to stuff all 11 of Hadley's takedown attempts, something that has been a massive issue for him in the past. Charles dropped three in a row from February 2023 to November 2023, but the UFC stuck with him, and he has rewarded the company with back-to-back unanimous decision victories.

Set to fight Hadley
Johnson will fight Jake Hadley at a UFC event scheduled for May 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Johnson snapped a three-fight skid with a win over Azat Maksum, and he'll be looking to get back to .500 in the UFC by taking down Hadley. Both fighters have struggled with inconsistency throughout their careers, but Johnson will be the only one coming off a win in his last fight.
