Solecki up next
Da Silva is set to take on Joe Solecki in a lightweight fight at a UFC event scheduled for June 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Entering off a loss, da Silva will take on Solecki this summer. The Brazilian fighter sports a 1-2 record with two fights being by unanimous decision. Da Silva stands one inch taller than Solecki with a 2.5 inch reach advantage. Da Silva will likely try to keep the fighters on their feet and strike Solecki with his reach advantage.

Out due to knee injury
Da Silva was forced to withdraw from his upcoming Feb. 6 fight against Devonte Smith due to a knee injury, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Da Silva reportedly suffered an LCL injury which will force him to be sidelined from training for eight weeks. It's unclear how exactly he suffered the injury but he'll be out for quite a while. In the meantime, the UFC is in the process of searching for a new opponent to take Da Silva's place and they surely aren't wasting any time with the event set to take place in six days.

Withdraws from upcoming fight
Da Silva withdrew from his upcoming Feb. 6 fight against Devonte Smith on Saturday, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The reason for da Silva's withdrawal is not yet clear. With the withdrawal coming just a week before the fight was set to take place, there isn't much time for a replacement to be found, though the UFC is reportedly trying to keep Smith on the card.

Booked for February matchup
Da Silva will face Devonte Smith (Achilles) in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 6, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Da Silva made his return to the Octagon in September after a layoff that lasted over 400 days, but he lost to Brad Riddell via unanimous decision at UFC 253. He'll look to bounce back against Smith, who underwent surgery in November of 2019 to repair a torn Achilles' tendon and hasn't fought since. He most recently fought in August of 2019, losing to Khama Worthy via TKO (punches) at UFC 241 despite entering the matchup as a (-1000) favorite. Da Silva has an edge in height, but Smith carries an advantage in reach.

Falls in return from long layoff
Da Silva lost to Brad Riddell via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 253 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Da Silva's first fight in over 400 days started well. He scored three takedowns in Round 1 and consistently out-muscled his opponent at the point of attack. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, he slowed considerably as the fight progressed, and Riddell regained the momentum and cruised to the clear cut decision. While this was a discouraging effort, Da Silva has a bright future. He won't be turning 25 years of age until next February, and he possesses a solid all-around game. He just needs additional reps inside the Octagon, and he got those Saturday. Da Silva remains a prime potential breakout candidate in 2021 despite this setback.
