Draws debuting opponent in September
Amedovski will take on Joe Pyfer in a middleweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for Sept. 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Amedovski has had a dreadful start to his UFC career, which includes an 0-3 record and back-to-back first-round exits. In those three fights, he has a combined total of just nine significant strikes landed. It's now likely do-or-die for the 34-year-old, as he'll take on a debuting opponent in Pyfer who just recently got his contract via Dana White's Contender Series. Amedovski does have a two-inch reach advantage, but on paper, is four inches shorter than Pyfer. He'll have his back against the wall in a must-win fight where he's likely to enter as the betting underdog.

Dominated in return from layoff
Amedovski lost to Joseph Holmes via submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 1:04 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A loser in each of his first two UFC bouts and coming off a 17-second knockout loss to John Phillips in September 2019, Amedovski was obliterated in a fight he had to have. He got clipped with a knee to the face which would have knocked out any mere mortal. Amedovski technically managed to survive, but he was so dazed that Holmes was easily able to get him to the ground right after and choke him out. Given his recent struggles the long layoff, it would appear to be highly unlikely that the UFC will grant Amedovski another opportunity.

Facing Holmes in May
Amedovski (undisclosed) is scheduled to fight Joseph Holmes at the UFC event on May 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After withdrawing from his last scheduled matchup that was to take place against Hu Yaozong at UFC 267, Amedovski will have a chance to earn his first UFC win against Holmes on May 21. Amedovski last fought back in 2019, so securing a victory could prove difficult against Holmes, who will also be seeking his first UFC win.

No longer fighter at UFC 267
Amedovski (undisclosed) has withdrawn from his scheduled matchup against Hu Yaozong on Oct. 30, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Amedovski and Yaozong were originally supposed to square off in July, but it was cancelled due to reasons related to COVID-19. The two were rescheduled for the UFC 267 prelims, but Amedovski will ultimately be unable to make the walk. The UFC appears to have moved forward from this matchup for now, re-booking Yaozong to face Andre Petroski at the event.

Now fighting in October
Amedovski's fight versus Hu Yaozong has been rescheduled for UFC 267 on Oct. 30, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
