TOP 100 NHL Prospects: Midseason Edition

We are more than halfway through the 2013-14 season and the top prospects in the NHL are starting to leave their mark, wherever they may be playing. Several players have graduated from the list and there is a new face at the top. Without further ado:

(Notes: Players with 25 games or more or regular season NHL experience are not included. All stats as of January 29, 2014)

1. Jonathan Drouin (F-TB)
2. Evgeny Kuznetsov (F-WSH): Only thing keeping him from the top spot is my concern he may never come over to play in North America.
3. Teuvo Teravainen (F-CHI)
4. John Gibson (G-ANA)
5. Ryan Strome (F-NYI): Dominating in AHL, struggled in first taste of NHL action.
6. Andrei Vasilevskiy (G-TB)
7. Anthony Mantha (F-DET): Fantastic at WJC, has 41 G and 85 pts in 39 QMJHL games
8. Derrick Pouliot (D-PIT)
9. Griffin Reinhart (D-NYI)
10. Johnny Gaudreau (F-CGY): Averaging two points-per-game in Hockey East.
11. Filip Forsberg (F-NSH)
12. Oscar Klefbom (D-EDM)
13. Mathew Dumba (D-MIN): Back in the WHL (where he belongs) to finish season.
14. Darnell Nurse (D-EDM)
15. Dmitrij Jaskin (F-STL)
16. Joel Armia (F-BUF)
17. Andrei Burakovsky (F-WSH): Continues to terrorize OHL playing alongside Connor McDavid in Erie.
18. Alexander Wennberg (F-CBJ)
19. Danny Kristo (F-NYR): Very consistent first pro season in Hartford (AHL).
20. Nikita Zadorov (D-BUF)
21. Cody Ceci (D-OTT): Has performed well beyond expectations in early NHL career.

97. Oliver Bjorkstrand (F-CBJ): Third leading scorer in WHL (71 PTS in 48 GP).

99. Taylor Leier (F-PHI): Surprise addition to Team Canada at WJC.

Xavier Ouellet (D-DET): Has made NHL debut, but 13 PTS in 41 AHL GP isn't enough for a defenseman whose value lies with his offensive ability.
