The Jets took a flier on Kuntz in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft after the 6-7 tight end impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.55-second 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical jump. Aaron Rodgers praised the tight end out of Old Dominion in the offseason, and Kuntz will look to make the team out of training camp after spending his rookie season on the Jets' practice squad. 2023 Fantasy Outlook
Kuntz dominated the NFL Scouting Combine leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, but it will likely take the rookie seventh-round pick some time to learn to use his intriguing mix of size and speed in the NFL, and he'll have to battle for a roster spot with three players ahead of him on the Jets' tight end depth chart. Measuring over 6-7, Kuntz is the tallest player to clear 40 inches on the vertical jump, and his 4.55-second 40-yard dash was also exceptional for a player of his size. Kuntz had seven touchdowns in 18 games at Old Dominion, but he barely saw the field in three years at Penn State before that.
