Long returns from his 2020 retirement to join the Chiefs likely as interior line depth.
With two Pro Bowl berths in two NFL seasons -- including second-team All-Pro honors in 2014 -- Long has asserted himself as the alpha dog on the Bears’ offensive line and as a team cornerstone. The former first-round pick regularly overwhelms defensive tackles with his strength and athleticism, leading many to speculate that a move from right guard to one of the tackle spots may be in the cards. Barring a training-camp injury to projected starting tackles Jermon Bushrod and Jordan Mills, the Bears aren’t likely to have Long change positions in 2015, so expect him to continue to overwhelm defensive linemen on the inside.
Started all 16 games as a rookie at right guard, earning All-Rookie honors and a trip to the Pro Bowl. Penciled in to start at guard again in 2014, but could be viewed as an option at right tackle if Jordan Mills proves ineffective.
The club's first-round draft pick out of Oregon, the athletic but lightly-experienced Long will be given every opportunity to win the starting right guard job.

Visiting with Raiders
OGFree Agent
March 14, 2021
Long is scheduled to visit with the Raiders on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
If the recently un-retired guard walks out of Vegas without a deal, Long's next visit is scheduled for Kansas City. Long's father, Howie, had a Hall-of-Fame career with the Raiders, so it makes sense that the three-time Pro Bowl guard has chosen to meet with them first as he looks to make his return to the NFL.
