Bo Nix

Bo Nix

24-Year-Old QuarterbackQB
Denver Broncos
2024 Fantasy Outlook
The 12th pick in this year’s draft, Nix seemingly has little competition for the starting job in Denver with only career backup Jarrett Stidham and first-round bust Zach Wilson standing in his way. Nix’s best attribute is avoiding negative plays, as he threw 26 INTs in five years as a collegiate starter and took 10 sacks in two years at Oregon. Nix is a skilled passer, though he doesn’t have the arm talent of the other first-round quarterbacks from the 2024 Draft. Oregon’s offense didn’t ask him to do much downfield, instead relying on a heavy diet of screen passes and quick throws, which explains how he set the NCAA single-season record for completion percentage (77.4) last season. Indeed, his 6.8-yard average target depth was the lowest in this year’s draft. At 6-2, 214, Nix is reasonably athletic and can throw on the run but lacks an elite trait. Nix's quick release and processing ability could make him a good fit for Sean's Payton offense -- a la Drew Brees in his later years -- and if anyone is NFL ready it should be Nix, whose 61 starts were an NCAA record for a QB. The Broncos drafted Oregon teammate Troy Franklin in the fourth round to join Courtland Sutton in an otherwise lackluster wideout corps, and Nix should add some rushing stats after posting 1,613 yards and 38 TDs in college. November 10, 2024
Nix completed 22 of 30 passes for 215 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding three carries for minus-5 yards in the Broncos' 16-14 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Nix hung tough against the defense of the defending champions on their home turf, nearly helping his team pull off a sizable upset. The rookie continued to demonstrate growth as a passer, recording over 20 completions for the second time in the last three games and pushing his passing touchdown total to five over that span with his pair of scoring tosses. Nix connected with Devaughn Vele (six yards) and Courtland Sutton (32 yards) for his pair of TDs, and he helped drive the Broncos a total of 43 yards in 13 plays to position Will Lutz for a potential game-winning field goal that was ultimately blocked. Nix will remain a solid commodity in all fantasy formats going into a favorable Week 11 home match up against the Falcons.

Surpasses Elway's rookie record
QBDenver Broncos
October 27, 2024
Nix set a Broncos record for wins by a quarterback by notching his fifth win in Sunday's 28-14 victory over the Panthers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Nix moved out of a tie with John Elway and Drew Lock. Elway got off to a slow start before morphing into a surefire Hall of Famer, but it's great company nonetheless for Nix. It hasn't been pretty at times for Nix and Denver's offense, but the rookie's ability to make plays with both his arm and legs coupled with Denver's stellar defense have helped the Broncos start 5-3.
