Rest-of-Season Projections
Cut loose by Minnesota
The Vikings released Bailey on Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
The writing was on the wall when the Vikings signed Greg Joseph in February. After missing seven field-goal attempts and six PATs last season, Bailey was never returning to Minnesota without accepting a pay cut on his scheduled $2.7 million salary. He now becomes a free agent instead.

Long regarded as one of the league's top kickers, Bailey fell off a cliff in 2017 and 2018 but then bounced back strong in 2019, earning a three-year contract this offseason. He's known for accuracy more so than leg strength, though he has made 31 FGs from 50-plus yards in nine seasons. The biggest question this year is the quality of the Minnesota offense, which looks far less explosive without Stefon Diggs.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Narrowing down options
Bailey has narrowed down his potential landing spots to three teams, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
ANALYSIS
The Vikings are among Bailey's desired options, but the other two clubs on his list remain unknown. Coming off an impressive rebound campaign in which he nailed 27 of 29 field-goal attempts, the former Cowboy could realistically be fielding generous offers from multiple sources. Considering Minnesota's tenuous track record with finding a reliable kicker prior to Bailey's arrival, however, it's likely that the team will make a serious run at retaining him.
