2024 Fantasy Outlook
Carter's role was reduced in Year 2 with Atlanta, and the addition of Matthew Judon complicates the situation further. Carter, a 2018 third-round pick, has 12 sacks, two interceptions, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles over the last three seasons. Read Past Outlooks

Still listed as starter
Carter is listed as one of the starting outside linebackers on the Falcons' official depth chart, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Falcons made a huge splash late in training camp by trading for Matthew Judon and signing Justin Simmons. Both newcomers are listed as backups on the depth chart, but that's expected to change as they get more acclimated to Atlanta's system. Carter and Arnold Ebiketie are expected to compete for the other starting outside linebacker spot when Judon is up to full speed.

In his first season with Atlanta, Carter registered a career-high 58 tackles and played in 17 games. The Falcons re-signed the 27-year-old to a two-year deal this offseason, and he'll likely garner a similar starting role for an improved defense in 2023. Carter has never put together a stellar sack season, but he has shown flashes as a pass rusher and notched his first career pick-six in 2022, marking back-to-back seasons with an interception.
