ANALYSIS
While serving as a reserve guard for Kentucky for most of his freshman campaign, Sheppard displayed a rare level of efficiency for a perimeter-oriented first-year college player. Over 33 games, Sheppard averaged 12.5 points and 2.3 three-pointers in 28.9 minutes per contest while shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 52.1 percent from downtown. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound guard also made an impact as a playmaker and defender, averaging 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals. Sheppard is expected to be a top-10 selection in the draft, and he could challenge for a top-five spot with a strong showing in pre-draft workouts.
