Here are some quick shots on teams and players involved in trade rumors right now:
Last night's trade:
Hawks and Wizards:
The Hawks sent Jordan Crawford, Mike Bibby, Maurice Evans, and a 1st-round pick to the Wizards for Kirk Hinrich and Hilton Armstrong. Hinrich will eventually take over the Hawks' starting point guard gig, but his numbers as a reserve this season have been pretty similar to the numbers he's averaged as a starter over his career, so we may not see his value rise too much. (By the way, I would like to point out that I suggested Hinrich might be moved in a trade to the Hawks in a blog post from a month ago. I know it's sad to pat your own back, but I'll take my victories where I can.)
Cavs and Clippers:
The Clippers will be sending Baron Davis' albatross of a contract and their unprotected 2011 1st-round pick to the Cavs for Maurice Williams and Jamario Moon. Both Mo and Baron were held out of their respective games for injury reasons. Those reasons have turned out to be fog to kill any trade rumors. It'll be interesting to see how Byron Scott works Davis into his rotation with Ramon Sessions and Manny Harris emerging over the last month.
- Chicago Bulls - The Bulls are still looking for a starting shooting guard and are believed to be desperately trying to acquire Courtney Lee from the Rockets.
- Courtney Lee was initially listed as inactive on the team's lineup card last night. This was later reported to be an "error." It sounds like a trade fell through.
- Rockets - They're shopping everyone except Luis Scola, which is probably just posturing on their side to build up trade interest in Scola. Shane Battier has been rumored to be going to Memphis for Thabeet.
- Zaza Pachulia was held out of last night's game and could be moved in another Hawks' trade. They're willing to consider moving everyone but Joe Johnson and Al Horford.
- Hasheem Thabeet is being shopped to everyone. Oklahoma City has some interest, and that'd be kind of cool for them to have the top two picks from the 2009 draft on their squad.
- Jeff Green could be on his way out of OKC if the team is able to acquire someone like Nene Hilario from the Nuggets.
- The Wizards had a rough night that resulted in some locker room dissent. Could their friction light a spark and prompt the team to make a move of JaVale McGee or Andray Blatche.
- Bobcats - Are Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson on their way out of town? Why aren't we hearing more rumors of the Cats trying get rid of Boris Diaw? Tyrus Thomas deserves to have that starting PF spot cleared out.
- Orlando Magic - They were already in rumors yesterday, and then they got beat by the Kings. Could that tough loss push them to make a move?
