-A lot of talk will happen this week about the concussion and head-to-head hits yesterday.  There are clearly players (ahem, ahem, James Harrison) who are head hunting and leading with their helmets.  Some type of suspension needs to come down if this is going to stop.  I'd actually consider going with a tiered system like baseball has for steroids.  First infraction, X amount of games, next infraction 2X amount of games and so on.  There would be bugs needed to be worked out such as figuring out what exactly is a dirty hit but something needs to happen.  I'd be shocked if the NFL does not address this over the next few days.

 -Garrett Hartley should be sending his resume to the CFL. 

 -Welcome back Pierre Garcon.  I thought Danny Amendola had the catch of the season until your grab last night.

 -With DJax out (likely for awhile), Jeremy Maclin looks good but teams will look at his gaudy line from this week and focus on him.  As a result, use the sneaky plays of Brent Celek and Jason Avant.  Speaking of the Eagles, how do you go to Vick after what Kolb has done?  It's not like they gave Kolb a huge rope and his play if nothing else has shortened Vick's leash (ugh, no pun intended).

 -Ryan Torain looks a lot like Peyton Hillis.  He's not going to break a lot of long runs utilizing his speed but the ability to break tackles and get yardage after the hit is apparent.

 -I was still expecting my Bills to lose even though they were on a bye.  Sigh…

 -If I told you during the preseason that six weeks into the season to choose between two teams, the Rams and the Cowboys.  One was 1-4 and the other was 3-3.  How much money would you put on the Cowboys being the 3-3 team and they aren't?

 -How underrated is the Cleveland Browns defense?  They allowed their first rushing touchdown of the season to the Steelers.  Colt McCoy for everything I saw looked much better than I expected.  The first interception he had shouldn't have been and he lost his best two receivers Mohamed Massaquoi and Josh Cribbs to concussions.  His arm strength and accuracy was very good and even when Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace are healthy they should continue to roll with the former Texas star.

 -Random note #1 – I saw the MTV thing a year back where Kanye West stole Taylor Swift's spotlight so I get the backlash.  That being said, talent-wise there is no comparison between the two as a performer/entertainer after watching Kanye at the MTV awards this season and SNL.

 -I'm as confused about Alex Smith as the next guy.  Mike Singletary seems set on keeping him under center, so we'll see.  He was very off on a couple of throws (think Frank Gore out of the backfield, Josh Morgan coming back to the ball and Smith throwing 10 feet over his head).  Jason Campbell is horrible, he hasn't done anything decent since upsetting the Nittany Lions his senior year at Auburn.  I consider him Todd Collins 2.0.  That's not a compliment.

 -Random note #2 – If you like movies that have great twists, check out "A Perfect Getaway."

 -I've looked too many times at the pass-interference call on the Broncos and haven't made a decision.  Usually the refs let things go in that type of situation.  Thoughts?

 -Chris Ivory had a nice day but limped off the field late in the fourth quarter.  He's always been hurt throughout his college career which is worth noting.

 -Hakeem Nicks and Miles Austin owners aren't happy this week but they'll still cashing in on great picks.  The Austin 68-yard reception TD reception that was called back was barely but still a foul in my book.

 -Demaryius Thomas is going to be very good.  Think 2009 DeSean Jackson, 2010 Hakeem Nicks, 2011 ….

 -Until the third quarter Jay Cutler hadn't thrown a completion less than 19 yards.  Of course the number comparison between YPC and YPA was very different, hence looking at the latter as a better stat.

 -Is it me or did Calvin Johnson kind of play possum with the shoulder injury?  He looked fine to me yesterday.

 -Worse offensive line: the Bills or the Bears.  I'm down as anyone on the Bills but the Bears don't seem to have a clue.  Need a bye-replacement for your defense?  Grab who's playing the Bears.

 -Random note #3 – Caught the UFC England event on Saturday.  Did anyone know Vitali Klitschko beat Shannon Briggs on Saturday in boxing?  Does anyone care?  The great irony of the night for the UFC was the Dan Hardy (an Englishman) vs. Carlos Condit fight.  All week Hardy was egging on Condit saying he didn't finish fights and would be afraid to stand up and strike with him.  Condit stood with him and knocked him out in the first round with a lethal left hook.  To Hardy's credit he was graceful in defeat.  (Paraphrasing) His response to "What went wrong tonight?" was "I got hit in the face!"  Well put.

 -Brandon Tate and Danny Amendola were disappointing.  The Rams are going to be sick when they get some legit wide receivers.  I can't say enough good things about Sam Bradford and if you're looking at playoff contenders, I'd be shocked if St. Louis wasn't a mainstay starting next year as long as Bradford is healthy.

 -I'm thinking the Seattle/New England trade has done wonders for Mike Williams and Deion Branch.  Peace out from Captain Obvious.

 -James Jones is a nice play with Jermichael Finley out but every time I see a pass thrown his way it seems like it's a bad incompletion or a penalty.

 -I'm officially downgrading Tom Brady.  He hasn't had a 300-yard game this season and Moss is out of town.  Teams will figure out how to defend his dink-and-dunk tendencies.

 -Random note #4 - "Get Him to the Greek" isn't that good.  Trust someone who wasted $6 bucks on PPV this weekend.

 -Maybe it was the pass rush, but Tony Romo checked down and used Felix Jones a lot.  Please stop celebrating the 2-4 yard runs Marion Barber.  Yes, you're a good short-yardage back but that's it.  Who gets the axe first in the NFL?  I think it is close between Wade Phillips, Norv Turner and Mike Singletary.  Of course the answer should be Brad Childress or Chan Gailey but it likely won't be.

 -Keep an eye on the game tonight.  Kenny Britt has come on after a slow start and a solid game tonight should have you checking your waiver wire to see if he's available (he still is in a lot of leagues).

-Again, I don't wish harm on anyone but I can't see Brett Favre lasting the whole season.  He was getting killed yesterday and an elbow problem isn't something you want your QB to have.

-A lot of Tim Tebow yesterday, no?  Did the Broncos see something in the Jets D?  McDaniels needs to have him throw on occasion which I'd expect to see happen the next game or two.
