ANALYSIS
Jones was released by the Chargers last August and never caught on with another team. He spent eight of his nine seasons in Green Bay, including a 2012 campaign in which he recorded 14 touchdowns on only 64 receptions. He never reached 900 receiving yards in a season, but his rapport with Aaron Rodgers in the red zone allowed him to score 51 times on 433 career catches (11.8 percent).

Predictably, Jones’ move from Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers to Oakland and Derek Carr came with a steep decline in per-target production. Despite seeing 18 more looks than he did in his final season with the Packers, Jones managed 151 fewer yards in 2014 than he had in 2013, with his yards-per-reception average falling from 13.8 to just 9.1. Jones did lead the Raiders in touchdown catches (6) and first-down receptions (40), but after the team signed Michael Crabtree and drafted Amari Cooper in the first round, Jones was deemed expendable. In the wake of Jordy Nelson's injury, Jones landed back with Green Bay and no appears poised to work as the team's No. 3 wideout behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams.
