2015
Gregorio was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento after posting solid numbers, mainly as a reliever, with Double-A Richmond in 2015 (3.09 ERA, 8.2 K/9). The success didn't translate at the next level as evidenced by his 5.28 ERA, although he did switch back to being a starter for all 21 of his appearances. He improved his strikeout rate slightly (10.2 K/9) despite moving to the rotation, but his walk rate suffered (3.6 BB/9). The lanky righty experienced some bad luck as well with a career-high .343 BABIP. With a 6-foot-7 frame and a power arsenal, it is no surprise the Giants wanted to protect the 24-year-old on their 40-man roster. Gregorio will likely start the year in Triple-A to see if he can improve on last year's numbers and could join the big club as either a starter or a reliever if injuries strike during the regular season.
