Reaches Double-A at 20
Ferris has a 3.09 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 21:13 K:BB in 23.1 innings over six starts since getting promoted to Double-A Tulsa on Aug. 2.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old southpaw was much more impressive through 20 starts for High-A Great Lakes, logging a 3.39 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 119 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. He threw 56 innings at Single-A in 2023 before getting traded from the Cubs to the Dodgers in the offseason deal that sent Michael Busch to Chicago. Ferris has built up to 121.2 innings and doesn't turn 21 until January, so this season has been a big success. He should return to Double-A next year and has the upside to keep climbing prospect rankings.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Already one of the more electric arms in the lower levels of the minors, Ferris gained a bit more prospect helium after the Dodgers targeted him in the trade that sent Michael Busch to the Cubs. Ferris has an extremely projectable 6-foot-4, 195-pound frame, particularly for a southpaw. He sits in the mid-90s with his fastball, which has excellent movement characteristics, and already boasts a plus curveball and above-average slider. The Dodgers' main focus will likely be on helping him repeat his delivery and improve his command. He had a 32.5 percent strikeout rate and 13.9 percent walk rate in his pro debut at Single-A, where most hitters couldn't touch him (.177 AVG against). A lot can go wrong with young, lanky fireballers like Ferris, but he has the upside to finish the season as a top-10 pitching prospect in baseball.
