Closer Watch

Nationals – Rafael Soriano found himself back in the closer's chair Sunday in Miami with Drew Storen unavailable. Although he gave up a run, Soriano did finish it off for his 32nd save of the year. Nonetheless, the Nats will continue going to Storen over the season's final week.

Padres – Kevin Quackenbush picked up his sixth save Monday, one day after Joaquin Benoit made his return from a shoulder injury. Benoit looked sharp Sunday, but Quackenbush has been effective as the closer, and there's really no point in the Padres making a change at this late stage of things.
