Closer Watch

Angels - Friday was the second game in a row that Ernesto Frieri was not the man that recorded a save for the Angels. Thursday Robert Coello got his first save of the season and Friday it was Garrett Richards doing the same thing, but in totally different situations. Coello had to replace Frieri in the ninth after the Angels interim closer, while Ryan Madson has been out with an injury, and Richards came in the eighth and recorded the last five outs to finish off the Royals. At this point it is kind of hard to tell what Mike Scioscia is going to do in terms of who will come in for save situations until Madson comes back if Frieri continues to struggle.

Brewers - Francisco Rodriguez recorded his first save of the season for Milwaukee on Friday after their normal closer, Jim Henderson, had to leave the game with one out to go after sustaining a hamstring injury attempting to field a ground ball. Rodriguez isn't the only reliever on Milwaukee's roster with experience as a closer, so with the likes of John Axford and Mike Gonzalez also in consideration it will be unclear who will get the ball in the ninth as long as Henderson is out.

Recommended Pickup

Leonys Martin, OF, TEX - A lot of the guys that are available on the waiver wire that consistently contribute stolen bases are there because they hurt your team in all the other offensive categories, but Martin has been hitting well the past couple weeks, and is worth a look at in almost all leagues. While "splitting" time with Craig Gentry as of late Martin is currently on a seven game hitting streak in which he has also picked up five steals. The only downside to picking up Martin is that he doesn't really contribute RBI's as he only has five in 2013, but if your team is looking at picking up some SB off the waiver wire then you may already have plenty of power to make up for Martin's lack there of.

Other Recent Recommendations:Kevin Gausman, Bronson Arroyo, Rick Porcello, Will Venable, and Jake Odorizzi
