Closer Watch

Mets – After accumulating just three saves through the first month and a half of the season, Parnell recorded a save Friday for the second consecutive day. Parnell has been trusty when called upon this season, as his 0.98 ERA and 0.71 WHIP illustrate. Unfortunately, he's flanked by a rather mediocre Mets pitching staff and lineup, so his save opportunities should continue to remain infrequent going forward.

Recommended Pickup

Emilio Bonifacio – After spending most of season providing hardly anything in the way of production, Bonifacio was deservingly dropped from many fantasy rosters. However, he's shown signs of life of late, batting 6-for-12 and adding a stolen base over the past three games. While it's only a small breakthrough, Bonifacio has demonstrated the past two seasons that when healthy and hitting even moderately well, he can be a useful asset. If he can keep his average around the .250 mark the rest of the way, it should allow him to see regular playing time. As one of the game's fastest baserunners, Bonifacio should come as a cheap source of steals as long on the waiver wire.
