Closer Watch
Red Sox - Boston won a marathon over the Athletics in 14 innings, but not before Jonathan Papelbon endured a a four run meltdown in the ninth inning. In fairness, it was aided by an error and only three of the runs were earned. Papelbon retired just one batter before he was yanked in favor of Bobby Jenks, who then allowed the tying run to score on Papelbon's record. Daniel Bard then stepped in and picked up Sunday's save.
Athletics - Andrew Bailey had put up two scoreless innings since returning on May 29. When the Athletics took a one run lead in the 11th, Bailey was called upon to nail things down in his first save opportunity. While he did strike out the side, Bailey gave up back-to-back doubles to Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Jacoby Ellsbury and the game went 14 innings.

Recommended Pickup
Freddie Freeman, 1B, ATL - Fact, Freeman did not start the year the blistering pace many expected, hitting .225 for the month of April. May was a different story, as Freeman upped his AVG and OBP. He bumped his OPS up to .802 in May from .717 in April and in June Freeman is off to a 5-for-13 start with three doubles. Freeman had a pedestrian start in Triple-A in 2010 before exploding in the second half.
Other recent recommendations:Adam Kennedy, Brian Matusz, Ben Revere, Jon Jay, Chris Iannetta, Eric Young Jr.
