Closer Watch
Baltimore Orioles – Tommy Hunter is expected to be activated from the 15-day DL on Sunday, but does that mean he's automatically pushed into the Orioles' closer role again? Some questions remain, but with current closer Zach Britton doing a solid job its possible Hunter is relegated to middle relief. It's a situation that certainly bears watching, but if I'm putting money on one guy – yes, I'm a gambling man – it's Britton (0.88 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with four saves out of five opportunities).
Detroit Tigers – Joe Nathan is a great closer… by name alone. His numbers over his last three appearances would have him picking daisies as a middle reliever if his name wasn't "Joe Nathan". Keep a close eye on the Tigers closer situation, as Nathan's numbers are quite pitiful. Nathan has given up eight runs over his last 1.1 innings pitched, with zero saves – no bueno. Joba Chamberlain is a wonderful hedge option right now for all owners scrounging for saves.

Recommended Pickup
Joba Chamberlain, RP, NYY – Remember him? The one-time prized prospect has now found some peace in Detroit, where a player can play ball without having to worry about the pressure that goes along with playing in New York. Chamberlain has settled in nicely as one of the Tigers go-to middle relievers, and he's been putting himself in the mix at a potential closer role with Joe Nathan sucking wind right now. The Tigers can't stick with Nathan for too much longer, so get your Joba while you still can.
