Justin Njinmah

Njinmah is set to miss the next four to six weeks of action after picking up an injury against Mainz on Sunday, according to manager Ole Werner. "Njinmah is out for four to six weeks with a ligament injury. Bad news for us, but especially for Justin. After his long absence at the end of the season, he was just about to be back at 100 percent."

Njinmah scored a goal with his lone shot while crossing once accurately and creating a chance during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Augsburg.

Njinmah (infection) signed a new contract with Werder Bremen, the club announced Thursday. "Justin has developed very well in his first professional year with us," according to club director Clemens Fritz. "Unfortunately, he had to take a longer break at the end of the season due to illness and injury. But we are sure that he will start the new season full of energy. We don't think he has reached the end of his development yet and he still has a lot of potential."

Njinmah (infection) is not an option for Saturday's match against Bochum on Saturday, according to manager Gerard Seoane. "Njinmah will be missing."

Njinmah is now dealing with an illness, as the club's football director Clemens Fritz stated, "He will definitely not be available in Augsburg. We then have to wait for the course of the disease with Justin. This is bitter for Justin and for us, because his qualities would of course help us."
