A good number of star players sat out midweek Capital One Cup matches but that doesn't necessarily mean that they'll miss out this weekend. Nagging injuries are easy to rest during non-Premier/Champions/Europa League matches, so it's important to not read too much into a player sitting out.
That being said, there are some big names that will be out for some time, so read below to find out if your rosters need adjusting.
Tottenham vs. Chelsea
Out:Marco van Ginkel suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday's Capital One Cup match and he'll miss the remainder of the season. Etienne Capoue remains out with an ankle injury and is likely to return after the international break. Aaron Lennon could return to training this week and should be back with the first-team squad next week. Saturday update: Demba Ba is unavailable.
Not Expected to Play:Ramires suffered a hip injury after coming on for van Ginkel in Tuesday's match and could not come out for the second half. Saturday update: Ramires is in the Starting XI.Younes Kaboul was described as "a doubt" by AVB.
Expected to Play:Danny Rose did not play in Tuesday's Capital One match against Aston Villa but was described as "90 percent" likely to play Saturday. Saturday update: Rose is OUT.
Southampton vs. Crystal Palace
Out:Jonny Williams and Jack Hunt are both not expected back until December with ankle injuries.
Not Expected to Play:Damien Delaney is sporting a walking boot this week for his injured ankle. Yannick Bolasie (hamstring) should be returning to fitness soon but is likely to come up short for this weekend's match.
Expected to Play:Kagisho Dikgacoi is expected to be in the Starting XI after missing last week's match against Swansea due to a red card.
Hull City vs. West Ham
Out:James Chester is expected to miss up to six weeks after injuring his hamstring in last week's win over Newcastle. Maynor Figueroa remains out on compassionate leave. Robert Koren will be out until at least November with a broken foot. Andy Carroll remains out with his foot injury.
Not Expected to Play:Paul McShane trained Tuesday after missing last week's game with a hamstring injury, although he's not at full fitness yet. Joe Cole is unlikely to play as he continues to work his way from a hamstring injury.
Expected to Play:Robert Brady (stomach) should be good after featuring and scoring during last week's game against Newcastle. Stewart Downing could feature after returning from a leg injury.
Fulham vs. Cardiff City
Out:Maarten Stekelenburg has still not recovered from his shoulder injury. Matthew Briggs (groin) remains out.
Not Expected to Play:Andreas Cornelius remains sidelined with his ankle injury.
Expected to Play:Bryan Ruiz (ankle) and Aaron Hughes (thigh) will be given late fitness tests but manager Martin Jol is optimistic they'll be ready.
Aston Villa vs. Manchester City
Out:Christian Benteke is expected to miss the next six weeks after injuring his groin early in last week's match against Norwich. Gary Gardner remains out after tearing his ACL in August. Jores Okore is out after tearing his ACL last week. Martin Demichelis will likely miss another three weeks with a knee ligament injury. Friday update: Sergio Aguero picked up a slight knock in last week's Derby and will be held out to keep him from playing three matches in one week.
Not Expected to Play:Ashely Westwood is an injury doubt thanks to a thigh strain that has kept him out of Villa's last two matches. David Silva could play in next week's Champions League match against Bayern Munich but he's doubtful for the Villa match. Friday update: Silva will be given a fitness test before the match and could be called upon with Sergio Aguero out.
Expected to Play:Gabriel Agbonlahor (ankle) appears to be on track to play and will be needed to replace Benteke's production.
Manchester United vs. West Bromwich Albion
Out:Ben Foster (foot) still has at least six weeks before he can get back to training.
Not Expected to Play:Zoltan Gera (hamstring) still doesn't have a definite return date. Chris Brunt (groin) will likely continue to sit out. Matej Vydra is also not expected to return from his hamstring injury. Darren Fletcher (illness) has returned to training but is not match fit yet.
Expected to Play:Nicolas Anelka and Victor Anichebe should be good to go after recovering from minor knocks. Shane Long was able to play in Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Arsenal. Robin van Persie is expected to play after missing last weekend's Manchester Derby and resting for Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Liverpool. Friday update: Tom Cleverley has been working through a knee injury but he trained Friday.
Swansea City vs. Arsenal
Out:Theo Walcott underwent abdomen surgery and will likely miss at least a month. Lukas Podolski remains out with a hamstring injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out until at least mid-November with a knee injury.
Not Expected to Play:Santi Cazorla is battling an ankle injury that will most likely keep him out until after the international break. Tomas Rosicky will likely be able to return for next week's Champions League match against Napoli. Yaya Sanogo remains out with a back injury.
Expected to Play:Ashley Williams (ankle) and Pablo (hamstring) both have minor knocks but should be good to go.
Stoke City vs. Norwich City
Not Expected to Play:Sebastien Bassong picked up a hamstring injury last week and did not play Tuesday in their Capital One Cup match against Watford.
Expected to Play:Ricky van Wolfswinkel (toe) missed this week's Capital One Cup match against Watford but should be good to go.
Sunderland vs. Liverpool
Out:Steven Fletcher suffered a dislocated shoulder during last week's match and could miss a number of months. Philippe Coutinho is likely to be out for another five weeks with a shoulder injury. Glen Johnson (ankle) had his protective cast removed this week but he's still weeks away from returning.
Not Expected to Play:Andrea Dossena (hip) has a chance to make his season debut. Phillip Bardsley remains out with an ankle injury. Daniel Agger appears to be a doubt after injuring his side in a freak weight room accident. Friday update: Agger trained fully Friday and looks more likely to play now.Aly Cissokho still has a few weeks before he returns from his ankle injury sustained at the end of August.
Expected to Play:Luis Suarez played in Wednesday's Capital One Cup match against Manchester United after returning from his 10-game suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic last season.
Everton vs. Newcastle
Not Expected to Play:Arouna Kone will likely return next week from his slight knee injury. Steven Pienaar has also not fully returned from his knee injury. Antolin Alcaraz remains out with a hamstring injury and isn't being rushed back. Steven Taylor will likely be out for another month with a hamstring injury. Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring) has a shot at playing. Massadio Haidara has apparently recovered from his knee injury but it's unclear if he's match fit quite yet.
Expected to Play:Yohan Cabaye was held out of Tuesday's Capital One Match against Leeds but should be good for Monday.
