MATCHES (EST)
10:00 a.m: Sunderland v. Liverpool
10:00 a.m: Manchester City v. Burnley
10:00 a.m: Everton v. Southampton
10:00 a.m: West Brom v. Hull City
12:15 p.m: West Ham v. Manchester United
Note: With almost all of these teams playing on just two days of rest, there will likely be significant squad turnover. Be sure to check lineups prior to lock, as value is almost certainly to appear. FanDuel pricing is kind to backups and will let you spend up elsewhere if you choose. Also, if one of the current heavy favorites makes big changes and puts out a weaker team (even if that team could still easily win), fantasy stats could suffer.
PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS
GOALKEEPER
Vito Mannone, SUN v. LIV ($5,000): Mannone has been decent in his career but he is never someone to feel overly confident about between the posts; against Burnley he showed this (although his CB's did not help). He should see considerably more shots on goal against Liverpool than he did last week at Burnley (just six SOG), as Liverpool have the second-most shots and shots on target this season. Note: Darren Randolph and Tom Heaton are both big underdogs, with Burnley the biggest, though Heaton is also the most expensive GK on the slate.
DEFENDERS
Winston Reid, WHU v. MUN ($5,900): The Hammers' center-back will need a big performance against Manchester United if they are to take anything away from this match. Some of the higher point totals for defenders have come against United, even when they score multiple goals. Scoring fewer than 20 fantasy points just twice out of the last seven matches (with a high of 43.25), Winston should be able to rack up defensive stats against a United team that has the third-most shots, second-most crosses and third-most chances created this season.
Papy Djilobodji, SUN v. LIV ($5,600): At fault for two, if not three, of the goals scored against the Black Cats, Djilobodji still ended up with almost 5x value and 26.5 fantasy points against Burnley. Averaging a consistent 26 fantasy points per game over the last five, Djilobodji and Sunderland will have all they can handle against an in-form Liverpool.
MIDFIELDERS
Kevin De Bruyne MCI v. BUR ($10,400): De Bruyne has not delivered great fantasy points in his last two matches and likely burned a few people with his performance against Hull. However, KDB is still one of the best midfielders in the world and a home match against Burnley could be a "get-right" match for City after a disappointing loss to Liverpool this weekend. De Bruyne has the third-most chances created and third-most shots among midfield-eligible players in the past six matches.
Paul Pogba, MUN at WHU ($10,000): Pogba continues to improve his play, scoring over 40 fantasy points in three of the past four matches. He seems to be the most consistent of the United options, as his shots on goal create a higher floor while still retaining solid goal-scoring odds. Pogba has the second-most shots and shots on goal, plus the ninth-most chances created among FanDuel midfielders in the past six matches.
Robert Snodgrass, HUL at WBA ($6,500): Snodgrass does it all for Hull City, who have looked better lately after starting the season as a whipping boy for the other Premier League teams. He takes advantage of the lower-level teams, averaging 26 fantasy points per game against clubs not in the top six, and he scored from a free kick in his last match.
Matt Phillips, WBA v. HUL ($6,600): It's rare to see West Brom score and not have Phillips be heavily involved. Although Hull are better than they were earlier in the season, let's be honest, they are still likely going down and give up plenty of fantasy points. West Brom is at home and Tony Pulis often allows a bit more open play, especially against a weaker side. Coming off a goal and assist against Southampton, Phillips has 6x+ upside when he scores.
FORWARDS
Anthony Martial, MUN at WHU ($8,100): Martial was active from the beginning against Middlesbrough this past weekend and frequently roasted Calum Chambers (playing out of position to be fair) down the left side. He also scored a late winning goal. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 35, may be rested and it could be Martial who leads the line if he doesn't keep his spot on the wing. Manchester United should be able to park in West Ham's half, and if Martial is the center forward, he should be in line for a handful of shots on goal.
Sergio Aguero, MCI v. BUR ($12,800): Aguero did not have a good match against Liverpool and was held without a single touch inside the 18-yard box. With a full match under his belt, it's fair to expect Aguero to improve against a weaker Burnley side at home. With easily the best goal-scoring odds on the slate, we are quickly reminded that Aguero is a world class talent and can dominate any match.
Daniel Sturridge, LIV at SUN ($8,100): With Liverpool playing the late game this past Saturday, there isn't much rest time for the trip north to face Sunderland. This could mean we see some squad rotation. Always a threat in front of goal (-110 goal-scoring odds) and never shy (to a fault, but we don't care about that) about shooting from anywhere, Sturridge should have a solid floor with 40-point upside. Sunderland just shipped four goals to lowly Burnley and Liverpool has the second-best odds to score at least three goals.
Note: Hal Robson-Kanu is $5,400 and if he starts against Hull would provide salary relief combined with goal-scoring ability (he scored and assisted this past weekend in his first start in some time).
