Ericsson was fastest in second practice for the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix on the streets of Nashville. He turned a fast lap of 1:31.7999.

Ericsson finished second in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon.

If practice Thursday is any indication, Ericsson could start the defense of his 2022 Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge victory from the front of the field. Ericsson turned the top lap, 39.1974 seconds, 229.607 mph, during the six-hour session under sunny skies at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the No. 8 Huski Ice Spritz Honda fielded by Chip Ganassi Racing, IndyCar.com reports.

Ericsson led the way in the opening test session for this year's 107th running of the Indianapolis 500, beating Helio Castroneves and Alex Palou, motorsport.com reports.

Ericsson finished third in the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach NTT IndyCar Series race at the Long Beach street circuit Sunday.
