Four-time Indianapolis 500 champion Castroneves says he hasn't given up on his dream of racing in NASCAR's Daytona 500 - but is still waiting to hear if he'll get a shot next year, Motorsport.com reports.

Adam Stern from Sports Business Journal reports that a deal is getting closer for Castroneves to compete in next year's Daytona 500.

Legendary IndyCar driver and four-time Indy 500 winner Castroneves was a guest Monday on the SiriusXM NASCAR Radio channel with hosts Danielle Trotta and Jeff Burton. During the conversation, Castroneves shared that he has always been interested in racing in NASCAR and driving in a Daytona 500.

Castroneves held off Ricky Taylor to give Meyer Shank Racing overall victory in the 60th Rolex 24 at Daytona, ten years after the team's breakthrough first win in the Florida endurance classic, sportscar365.com reports.

Castroneves is one of several drivers that are set to contest both the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring and NTT IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway, which falls on the same weekend as the Florida endurance classic, sportscar365.com reports.
