Hoping to bounce back in December
Ross will take on Hyun Sung Park at UFC Shanghai on Dec. 9, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederland reports.
ANALYSIS
Ross has not made it to the one-minute mark in either of his first two UFC bouts against Kleydson Rodrigues in February and Jesus Aguilar in July. The pressure is on to show that he deserves more fight with the UFC. Park picked up a submission win in his first UFC bout in February.

Lasts 17 seconds at UFC 290
Ross lost to Jesus Aguilar via KO (punch) at 0:17 of Round 1 at UFC 290 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Ross was knocked out by Kleydson Rodrigues in 59 seconds in his UFC debut this past February, so he is clearly trending in the wrong direction. The 34-year-old didn't show much on the Australian region circuit prior to his company arrival, so perhaps these struggles shouldn't come as a surprise. The UFC typically gives a fighter a third opportunity even if they drop their first two bouts with the promotion, but Ross is at clear risk of being an exception given how poorly he has looked to date.

Second UFC fight booked
Ross will take on Jesus Aguilar at UFC 290 on July 8, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Ross will hope to do better than what he showed in his UFC debut back in February when he was a TKO in 59 seconds against Kleydson Rodrigues. Aguilar is also coming off a first-round stoppage defeat in February against Tatsuro Taira.

Lasts 59 seconds in UFC debut
Ross lost to Kleydson Rodrigues via TKO (punches) at 0:59 of Round 1 at UFC 284 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
It's not an entirely unexpected result given the fact Ross entered as a +285 underdog, but any time you're finished in less than a minute, it's disappointing. Ross got caught up along the fence and Rodrigues blasted him with everything but the kitchen sink. The only good news for Shannon is that he picked up 20 percent of Rodrigues' purse after the latter missed weight by a pound Friday morning. Ross seems likely to be given another shot with the UFC given his willingness to step into the Octagon with a heavy opponent here, but little should be expected.

Facing heavy opponent
Ross' scheduled flyweight matchup against Kleydson Rodrigues will proceed as planned despite Rodrigues missing weight by one pound Friday, Jose Youngs of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ross will effectively receive 20 percent of Rodrigues' purse for agreeing to step in against a heavy opponent. He remains approximately a (+285) betting underdog for his UFC debut as of Saturday morning.
