Second UFC fight set for August
Palatnikov will take on Ramiz Brahimaj in a welterweight bout at the UFC event on August 21, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Palatnikov will look to bounce back after dropping his UFC debut to Impa Sasanganay in April. That brought his record as a pro to 6-3. Brahimaj is coming off a loss in his UFC debut as well.

Suffers first UFC defeat
Palatnikov lost to Impa Kasanganay via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:26 of Round 2 at UFC on ABC 2 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Palatnikov was unable to recapture the magic of his shocking knockout win over Louis Cosce in his company debut this past November. The finish came when Palatnikov was clipped by a right hand from Kasanganay and was unable to recover. It's the first submission loss of Palatnikov's career and first defeat in the UFC as well. A 32-year-old journeyman with no pedigree to speak of, the odds are strongly against Palatnikov making any sort of impact in the UFC.

Next fight scheduled
Palatnikov is set to take on Impa Kasanganay on the UFC's April 10 card, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Palatnikov pulled off a stunning upset as a heavy underdog against Louis Cosce, earning him a $50,000 bonus for the Fight of the Night in his debut with the promotion. He now has his second bout in the books, and it comes versus a fighter in Impa Kasanganay who is looking to send a highlight-reel worth KO at his expense into the past. Palatnikov did most of his damage from an upright position by essentially outlasting Cosce in his previous bout but may need to do more this time to keep his record clean. While he stands two inches taller than Kasanganay, Palatnikov will cede three inches of reach to his opponent.

Stunning victory in UFC debut
Palatnikov defeated Louis Cosce via TKO (punches) at 2:47 of Round 3 at UFC 255 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight was ugly and highly entertaining all at the same time. Palatanikov -- who entered as a +435 underdog for his UFC debut -- stumbled out of the blocks. He was smashed by Cosce repeatedly early in the fight but somehow managed to survive and eventually take advantage of his opponent's non-existent gas tank. One can't help but think Palatnikov would have lost this fight if Cosce brought any sort of cardio to the table whatsoever, but he deserves full marks for figuring it out in a bout in which he honestly had no business winning. Palatnikov joined the UFC with no real pedigree so there appears to be a pretty decent chance this will go down as his high point with the company. He has plenty to be proud of here, however, including an extra $50,000 after this fight was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Set for UFC debut
Palatnikov will make his UFC debut against Louis Cosce at UFC 255 in Las Vegas on Nov. 21, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Palatnikov recently signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC, making him the first Hong Kong native to sign with the promotion. The match pits a pair of debutants who have both made seven career professional fights. Palatnikov has won five and lost two, while Cosce is undefeated.
