Facing Amirkhani in March
Grundy will fight Makwan Amirkhani in a featherweight bout at UFC's March 19 event, Farah Hannoun and Abbey Subhan of MMAJunkie.com report.
ANALYSIS
Grundy took a split-decision loss to Lando Vannata at UFC 262 in May and has now lost his last two bouts. Amirkhani is also in the midst of a losing streak, as he's lost his last three fights, the most recent of which was a knockout (knee) defeat against Lerone Murphy.

Can't land takedown in defeat
Grundy lost to Lando Vannata via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 27-30) at UFC 262 on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Texas is known for its questionable scorecards and the 30-27 one in Grundy's favor is the latest example. This was a fairly close fight throughout, but it would be difficult to watch the entire thing and think Grundy got the better of it. Grundy generates nearly all of his offense through his wrestling, and it's going to be difficult for him to win a fight in which he lands just 3-of-20 takedown attempts (as he did in this one). To top it off, Grundy was unable to keep Vannata on the mat in the rare instances in which he got him there. The 34-year-old Brit has now dropped back-to-back decisions (Vannata, Movsar Evloev) since knocking out Nad Narimani in his UFC debut back in March 2019.

Added to UFC 262 card
Grundy will fight Lando Vannata in a featherweight matchup at UFC 262 on May 15, Alex Pattle of The Independent reports.
ANALYSIS
Grundy had to withdraw from a fight against Nik Lentz back in January after one of his team members tested positive. Now cleared for a return, he'll take on an opponent making their drop down to featherweight. Grundy will be at a slight advantage in terms of reach, but a one-inch disadvantage in terms of height.

Not fighting on Jan. 16
Grundy announced Sunday via his personal Twitter account that he will withdraw from his Jan. 16 fight against Nik Lentz at the UFC's event on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi after one of his team members tested positive for COVID-19.
ANALYSIS
Grundy and his crew received the news that one of his team members tested positive just one day after departing for Abu Dhabi. The 33-year-old likely won't have to wait long to fight again, but out of an abundance of caution, he's decided to skip out on squaring off against Lentz.

Slated to return
Grundy (face) will take on Nik Lentz in a featherweight matchup at a UFC event scheduled for Jan. 16, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Grundy lost to Movsar Evloev via unanimous decision in late July, and he was handed a medical suspension following the matchup. However, he should be clear to return in January. The 33-year-old has been hindered under the UFC banner due to a lack of power in his hands. He'll face Lentz, who lost to Arnold Allen via unanimous decision in his most recent fight in January. Grundy carries an advantage in reach, but the two fighters are even in height.
