Injury leads to TKO defeat
MiddleweightUFC
October 5, 2024
Holland lost to Roman Dolidze via TKO (injury) at 5:00 of Round 1 at UFC 307 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
ANALYSIS
It's an exceptionally bad break for Holland in a fight that feels like he had to have. Kevin gave up an early takedown and spent the vast majority of Round 1 on his back. He defended well, only to appear to pop a rib during a transition attempt. Dolidze then found himself in mount and unloaded, with Holland hanging around to see the end of the frame. Both Kevin and his team conferred in between rounds and it was determined he could not continue. Set to turn 32 years of age in early November, Holland has lost three of four dating back to September 2023. He would be wise to move down to welterweight full time in an attempt to make a run at 170 pounds.

Scheduled against Dolidze
MiddleweightUFC
August 16, 2024
Holland will compete against fellow middleweight Roman Dolidze at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City on Oct. 5, according to Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
ANALYSIS
Holland waited only a day before getting another opponent for UFC 307. Dolidze recently made some noise at light heavyweight by defeating Anthony Smith, so his return to a lower division should not make him an easy opponent by any means. Holland is coming off momentum of his own though, having submitted Michal Oleksiejczuk.

Holland is no longer fighting Chris Curtis at UFC 307, according to Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
On Wednesday night, Curtis revealed he suffered a foot injury that will push his availability until December. With UFC 307 scheduled for October, that means Curtis cannot make the event, which means his scheduled fight against Holland is canceled. Holland could also wait until December or prepare against someone else in the meantime.

Holland will compete against fellow middleweight Chris Curtis at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City on Oct. 5, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Not even multiple months following his first-round submission win at UFC 302, Holland has another fight scheduled, this time against Curtis. Holland's next opponent is recovering from a Grade 3 hamstring tear that has seemingly taken not much time to heal up. Perhaps that can work in Holland's favor, and he can improve his momentum even further.
Takes opponent's limb home

June 2, 2024
Holland defeated Michal Oleksiejczuk via technical submission (armbar) at 1:34 of Round 1 at UFC 302 on Saturday in Newark.
ANALYSIS
This fight started as frantic as one might expect. Oleksiejczuk appeared to get the drop on Holland after connecting with a right hand, but "Hussar" chose to go into the guard of the BJJ blackbelt. It seemed obvious to everyone but Oleksiejczuk that the fight was over, as he refused to tap to a sunk armbar, which resulted in the bone break and a referee stoppage. We don't have to wonder where Holland goes from here, as he said in his post-fight interview that he'll fight whoever the UFC wants if they "keep Kev around." It's odd to hear that a fighter doesn't have title aspirations, but the UFC will likely jump at the chance to fill out cards with a talented scraper who is always ready to go. Holland improves to 26-11 in professional MMA due to the win. He'll also take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.
Will move to middleweight class
MiddleweightUFC
May 11, 2024
Holland will face Michal Oleksiejczuk in a middleweight bout at UFC 302 on June 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Holland has been fighting in the welterweight division lately, but he'll move to middleweight to take on Oleksiejczuk in Newark. Holland owns a 25-11-0 pro record, but he's been struggling of late following back-to-back defeats to Michael Page and Jack Della Maddalena, both due to decision.
