Fades in UFC 290 opener
Kirk lost to Esteban Ribovics via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 290 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making his first UFC appearance at lightweight, Kirk faded in a major way following a fast start. He controlled Ribovics on the mat for nearly the entirety of Round 1, but his gas tanked appeared to become compromised in the process, and he spent the vast majority of the final ten minutes serving as a punching bag for his opponent. It's highly concerning to see Kirk's energy dip considering he didn't have to cut down to 145 pounds for this bout. Kirk has now lost back-to-back bouts on the heels of a unanimous decision win over Makwan Amirkhani in his company debut back in July 2021. He'll probably be fighting for his job his next time out.

Ribovic fight in works again
Kirk (undisclosed) and Esteban Ribovics have a lightweight fight in the works for UFC 290 at Las Vegas on July 8, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Kirk and Ribovics were scheduled to fight at UFC 285 before an undisclosed injury sidelined the former. The latter lost to Kirk's replacement, Loik Radzhabov. If a Ribovics fight does go through for Kirk, it would be his first matchup since March 2022.

Off of UFC 285
Kirk (undisclosed) is out of his scheduled fight against Esteban Ribovics at UFC 285 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk won't get a chance to bring his official UFC record above the .500 mark, and it's unclear what forced the withdrawal the week of the scheduled bout. Newcomer Loik Radzhabov is expected to step in and face Ribovics in his stead.

Set to fight in March
Kirk will take on Esteban Ribovics at UFC 285 on March 4 in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Kirk is set to fight for the first time in almost one year following his loss to Damon Jackson via submission in March of 2022. The 28-year-old featherweight is 11-5-0 in his MMA career with a 1-1 record in the UFC since 2021. Krik will take on a fighter in Ribovics who is coming off a win in his lone UFC match, defeating Thomas Paull via strikes during Dana White's Contender Series in August of 2022. The 26-year-old Argentinian will have have a distinct six-inch reach disadvantage against Kirk.

Suffers first UFC defeat
Kirk lost to Damon Jackson via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 4:42 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Kirk looked darn good in taking a unanimous decision from Makwan Amirkhani last July as a late-notice replacement, but the constant pressure of the streaking Jackson was simply too much to overcome. Kirk remained competitive for about three minutes before it fell apart. It began to go downhill for him in the latter stages of the opening round before the roof caved in for the duration of the second frame. A long time staple of the LFA roster, Kirk joined the company last summer without much pedigree, so it's imperative he rebounds his next time out. He entered this fight a very slight +110 underdog.
