More Fantasy News
Booked for June 15
Quinlan will take on Adam Fugitt in a welterweight matchup at the UFC event schedule for June 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After winning his UFC debut in August of 2022, Quinlan has dropped back-to-back fights, most recently falling to Danny Barlow via third-round stoppage in February. He now takes on Fugitt, who also fell to 1-2 in the UFC after a submission loss to Mike Malott last summer. Fugitt has height and reach advantages, as well as a statistical edge in striking and takedown volume over a small sample size, but Quinlan will at least be coming off a far shorter layoff.

Hammered by Danny Barlow
Quinlan lost to Danny Barlow via TKO (punches) at 1:18 of Round 3 at UFC 298 on Saturday in Anaheim.
ANALYSIS
Hopelessly outclassed in terms of both speed and power, Quinlan was lucky to last as long as he did. The lone moments of this fight in which Josh was competitive was when Barlow eased up and stayed to the outside. Once Danny floored the gas pedal, Quinlan was done. Too tough for his own good, Quinlan tried to hang in there despite both of his eyes being swollen shut. The standing stoppage from referee Jason Herzog was a good one. Quinlan picked up a first-round knockout win over Jason Witt in his UFC debut back in August 2022, but he has lost two straight since and hasn't been competitive in either fight. At 31 years of age and with all of nine pro bouts under his belt, Quinlan will likely be fighting for his job his next time out.

Filling in for Kinoshita
Quinlan will fight Danny Barlow at UFC 298 on Feb. 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Yusaku Kinoshita was originally set to fight Barlow but had to withdraw for undisclosed reasons. Quinlan sits at 1-1 in the UFC after dropping his last fight against Trey Waters, and he'll be matched up against an opponent who has not yet lost a professional fight.

No-shows loss in Vegas
Quinlan lost to Trey Waters via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Quinlan agreed to fight Waters just a couple days ago after his originally scheduled opponent, Ange Loosa (undisclosed), was forced to withdraw. It turned out to be a disastrous decision. Josh was dominated from bell-to-bell despite entering as a -200 favorite. Known for his trademark power, Quinlan was unable to get inside against the massive 6-foot-5 frame of Waters. Quinlan continued to load up on power shots while Waters simply picked him apart with his jab. Josh made a name for himself with a first-round knockout win over Jason Witt in his UFC debut last August, but this was a significant step backwards for a 30-year-old with all of eight professional fights under his belt.

Opponent change for Saturday
Quinlan will now take on Trey Waters at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Quinlan was originally scheduled for a date with Ange Loosa and would have entered as approximately a (+125) betting underdog, but that matchup was scrapped following Loosa's withdrawal for undisclosed reasons. Stepping up in Loosa's place is Waters, a 28-year-old welterweight champion under the banner of LFA who sports a 7-1 record in professional MMA. On paper, Quinlan will be giving up five inches in both height and reach to Waters, though he still opens as approximately a (-180) betting favorite.
