Possible fractured orbital
Eduardo has been suspended six months by the Nevada Athletic Commission pending clearance for a right orbital fracture, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Eduardo may have only absorbed 23 strikes that were considered "significant" by the official scorer before falling via second-round submission, but the damage was done. Barring early clearance from an ENT doctor, he'll now have to wait until at least April to bounce back from a three-fight losing streak, provided he gets that chance.

Returns from long layoff with loss
Eduardo lost to Alejandro Perez via submission (armbar) at 4:13 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time in well over three years, it appears to be a near certainty this will be Eduardo's last bout with the company. The 43-year-old held his own against the favored Perez in Round 1, perhaps even winning the frame, but the tide turned in Round 2 when Perez was able to clamp on the submission attempt following a scramble between the two men. If this is indeed the end, Eduardo finishes with a 3-5 record with the UFC, with his last victory coming against Manny Gamburyan way back in November 2016.

Long absence hopefully over
Eduardo is in line to face Alejandro Perez in a bantamweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for Oct. 2, Farah Hannoun of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Eduardo is a 40-year-old veteran of 40 professional fights, but he hasn't made the walk to the UFC Octagon since June of 2018 when he was submitted by prospect Nathaniel Wood. He was scheduled for a March matchup against Anthony Birchak, but it was called off due to visa issues. He'll now draw an opponent in Perez who is coming off a two-year layoff of his own, but Eduardo will enter this matchup with a four-inch reach advantage. The numbers in terms of striking volume, striking defense and offensive wrestling all lie in favor of Perez.

Out for Saturday's fight
Eduardo (visa issues) won't fight Anthony Birchak at UFC Vegas 22 on Saturday, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Eduardo couldn't travel to the United States due to visa issues. The UFC is trying to find a new opponent for Birchak. Eduardo previously lost three of his last four fights, and his bout against Birchak was viewed as a last call.

Gets another fight
Eduardo will take on Anthony Birchak in a bantamweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for March 20, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is seemingly the last call for Eduardo, as the 42-year-old has lost back-to-back fights and three of his last four overall. His most recent appearance was a loss to Nathaniel Wood in June of 2018, so it will officially be 33 months in between fights. Eduardo will have a two-inch reach advantage over an opponent in Burchak who has alternated wins and losses through five UFC fights.
