ANALYSIS
This will be dos Santos' first Vegas card since he debuted back in 2023. Since then, he has fought outside the United States, yielding a 1-1 record. The loss was in his UFC debut to Manel Kape, but dos Santos recently defeated Victor Altamirano at Mexico City.

Fortunate to emerge with win
Dos Santos defeated Victor Altamirano via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Dos Santos made his late-notice UFC debut last September, looking strong in a unanimous decision loss to a legit contender in Manel Kape. He was far less impressive here, but somehow managed to emerge with his first company victory. Dos Santos struggled to defend the takedown all night long. Altamirano connected on 9-of-11 attempts, which certainly appeared to be enough to earn him the decision. The only round dos Santos appeared to do enough to win was the third, but the judges disagreed. This was a step back from the Brazilian despite the favorable result.

Altamirano fight scheduled
Dos Santos will compete against Victor Altamirano in a flyweight fight at the UFC's Feb. 24 event, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Dos Santos will stay in the UFC for a second fight. He is scheduled to take on a flyweight fighter who went 1-1 in 2023. As for dos Santos, he will try to establish his first win for the promotion after debuting for it with an unfortunate but late-notice loss against Manel Kape.

Looks good in late-notice loss
Dos Santos lost to Manel Kape via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 293 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Stepping in for Kai Kara-France on just a few weeks notice, dos Santos looked excellent in his UFC debut against a fringe top-five flyweight. The Brazilian was aggressive throughout the course of the bout, continuing to push forward despite the fact Kape was getting the better of most of the striking exchanges. The fight appeared even from a volume standpoint, but Kape simply hits harder. The defeat aside, dos Santos, who will be 23 years of age two days after this event takes place, raised his stock in a major way in his first appearance with the company. We'll be seeing him again in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, he'll walk away with an extra $50,000 after this matchup was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
