Next fight confirmed
Blanchfield has agreed to face Rose Namajunas in a flyweight contest at UFC Edmonton on November 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports. This will be the night's co-main event, according to UFC chairman Dana White.
ANALYSIS
Blanchfield is coming off a tough loss via unanimous decision against Manon Fiorot at UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City. Her entire performance during that fight was disastrous but the 25-year-old will have a chance to bounce back against Rose Namajunas, although the work will not be cut out for her, as Rose is off back-to-back impressive victories.

Not competitive in main event
Blanchfield lost to Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision (45-50, 45-50, 45-50) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
Fighting in front of family and friends in her native New Jersey, Blanchfield's performance was an unmitigated disaster. She was unable to get her grappling game going against her much bigger opponent, and Erin never had a prayer at consistently coming out on top in the striking exchanges between the two. There's a case to be made that Fiorot was simply a bad matchup for Blanchfield stylistically, but her performance was lacking regardless. Erin won't be 25 years of age until this coming May and still has an exceptionally high ceiling, but this effort was a reminder she has plenty of work to do to get there.

Next fight booked for March
Blanchfield is scheduled to face Manon Fiorot in a flyweight bout at the UFC's March 30 event in Atlantic City, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Blanchfield's upcoming bout could have No. 1 contender implications for the women's flyweight title. Blanchfield is undefeated as a member of the UFC with her most recent win coming against Taila Santos via unanimous decision in August. She has quickly moved herself up the division ranks and seems to be one win away from matching up with Alexa Grasso for the championship belt.

Remains perfect in UFC
Blanchfield defeated Taila Santos via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
This was the first time in a half-dozen UFC bouts that Blanchfield had to face some adversity and wasn't able to completely dominate her opposition. She lost Round 1 on all three scorecards before rebounding to win the final two frames. It's an extremely positive sign that Erin was able to emerge victorious in a fight in which she failed on all 14 of her takedown attempts. To Blanchfield's credit, she kept firing them off, and that led to her racking up 8:08 worth of control time, most of which was spent with her pinning Santos to the fence. Erin turned just 24 years of this past May, so there are likely to be bumps in the road along the way, but the upside here is massive.

Will fight Santos in Singapore
Blanchfield will take on Taila Santos in a flyweight bout at a UFC event in Singapore on Aug. 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Blanchfield was scheduled to face Santos back in February, but that fight was called off after the latter fighter's coaches ran into visa issues. Now, the two will get their chance to square off, and it will come after Blanchfield took out Jessica Andrade with a rear-naked choke on extremely short notice. She'll look to remain perfect in the UFC and improve her record to 6-0.
