Drops decision after weight miss
MiddleweightUFC
September 7, 2024
Budka lost to Andre Petroski via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The events of the past 36 hours could very easily cost Budka his roster spot. He missed weight by 2.5 pounds Friday morning before being completely whitewashed by the grappling game of Petroski. Budka spent 9:20 of the 15-bout being controlled on the mat and landed just 23 total strikes of his own. All this, combined with his knockout defeat to Cesar Almeida in his UFC debut this past April, may very well lead to the company deciding to cut its losses after only a couple bouts.

Misses weight, cleared to fight
MiddleweightUFC
September 6, 2024
Budka missed weight but is cleared to fight Andre Petroski at UFC Vegas 97 on Saturday, MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Budka was fined 20 percent of his purse for stepping on the scale 2.5 pounds heavier than the middleweight limit. Despite being on the verge of collapse during his weigh-in, his fight with Petroski will go on as scheduled.

Budka is scheduled to compete against Andre Petroski in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 97 on Sept. 7, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Just under one year ago, Budka grinded out a UFC contract through Dana White's Contender Series. Immediately, he might have to grind out the continuation of his UFC career. Budka, having been finished during his debut for the promotion back in April, will fight against an opponent coming off a win less than one week ago at UFC Denver.
Finished in UFC debut
MiddleweightUFC
April 6, 2024
Budka lost to Cesar Almeida via TKO (strikes) at 2:13 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Budka didn't look great in a unanimous decision on Dana White's Contender Series last September, but he was awarded a contract regardless. He was finished here in his official UFC debut as a -165 favorite. Budka was forced into a desperate takedown attempt after being hurt and Almeida responded by firing off some massive blows to earn the stoppage. Any theoretical potential surrounding Budka is entirely tied to the fact he turned just 24 years of this past January.
Short-notice debut scheduled
MiddleweightUFC
March 12, 2024
Budka is scheduled to compete against Cesar Almeida in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 90 on April 6, per Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Initially, Almeida was expected to fight Josh Fremd before he withdrew from UFC Vegas 90. But on short notice, Budka has volunteered, quickly processing his first opportunity to debut for the promotion since winning a contract via Dana White's Contender Series.
Grinds out contract
MiddleweightUFC
September 12, 2023
Budka defeated Chad Hanekom via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
This was far from your typical contract-worthy performance, as Budka and Hanekom took turns trying to bring each other to the floor for 15 minutes, which resulted in a tremendous amount of stalling against the cage. In the end, Budka ended up in better positions more often, but there was nothing in this victory that indicated "The Mindless Hulk" would be able to make a charge in the middleweight division. Budka does have a college wrestling pedigree, but it's hard to see the 23-year-old as much more than roster depth ahead of his organizational debut.
