Falls to 1-4 in past five fights
Jacoby lost to Dominick Reyes via KO (punches) at 2:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
ANALYSIS
It goes without saying that Jacoby losing to a guy that hadn't won a fight since October 2019 isn't a great look. It becomes an even worse look when you take into account he was a -250 favorite. Dustin landed one big leg kick that seemed to bother Reyes, but other than that, he wasn't able to close the distance between the two. He eventually ate a flurry of strikes, including one huge punch which appear to knock him out cold while still standing. It's all fallen apart on Jacoby in the last 18 months or so. He's 1-4 in his past five fights during that span. Having turned 36 years of age this past April, Jacoby's roster spot may be in jeopardy.

Draws Reyes in June
Jacoby will take on Dominick Reyes in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Louisville on June 8, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Jacoby has the stopping power to end a fight at any giving time, but it hasn't been working out for him of late, as he's dropped three of his last four. He gets a solid opportunity here against a well-known name in Reyes, but Reyes has also been down on his luck, dropping four in a row and dealing with various injuries. While Reyes has the height and reach advantages on paper, Jacoby has the edge in terms of volume striking in a matchup that's expected to primarily be contested on the feet.

Fades following fast start
Jacoby lost to Alonzo Menifield via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight consisted of the technique of Jacoby vs. the power of Menifield. When that happens, and it's a close bout, it almost always seems to go in favor of the guy that landed the more damaging blows, and that wasn't Dustin. Jacoby won Round 1 with volume, but Menifield closed the gap in that area over the course of the final ten minutes, in addition to landing the only takedown and only knockdown of the fight. It's a crushing defeat for Jacoby, who entered as a -265 favorite and was clearly up a round. The 35-year-old is 1-3 in his past four fights dating back to October 2022 and appears to be just about out of time in terms of making a legitimate push up the rankings at 205 pounds.

Menifield fight next
Jacoby will compete against Alonzo Menifield in a light heavyweight fight at UFC 296 in Las Vegas on Dec. 16, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Jacoby will look to avoid a trifecta of 2023 losses by defeating Menifield to end the year. The former has already lost to Azamat Murzakanov (via decision) and Kennedy Nzechukwu (via TKO) this year.

Snaps brief losing streak
Jacoby defeated Kennedy Nzechukwu via TKO (punches) at 1:22 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 50 on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
It was Jacoby's best performance in the UFC and one that should save his job as a result. In desperate need of a win on the heels of back-to-back decision defeats to Azamat Murzakanov (unanimous) and Khalil Rountree (split), Dustin ate a left hand during an exchange along the fence before firing off a right that sent Nzechukwu crumbling to the mat. He jumped on top and fired off some additional strikes before referee Gary Copeland had seen enough. The stoppage may have been a tad early, but it wasn't awful. It would also ultimately go on to win him one of five $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening. Jacoby has legitimate power and is durable for a big man, but he also has zero history of defeating better competition. Perhaps this effort will get him going in the right direction.
