First win since October 2019
Reyes defeated Dustin Jacoby via KO (punches) at 2:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
ANALYSIS
Entering the evening, Reyes hadn't fought since November 2022. He hadn't won a fight since October 2019. That was against Chris Weidman. In between, he lost four bouts (and that whole COVID thing happened). He put forth a vintage performance here against Jacoby, putting together one massive multiple-strike combination, all of which landed flush and put Dustin away. It's a great moment, but Reyes will be 35 years of age a day after Christmas and hasn't competed much of late. It's far more likely this result is a one-off as opposed to a sign of things to come.

Returns against Dustin Jacoby
Reyes (undisclosed) will take on Dustin Jacoby in a light heavyweight matchup at UFC Louisville on June 8, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Reyes hasn't been the same since his competitive loss to Jon Jones back in 2020, as he's now lost four in a row and most recently dropped out of a March fight in Atlantic City. Now presumably healthy, he'll get a slight step back in competition against Jacob, who has lost three of his last four. Reyes will enter with height and reach advantages, while Jacoby has the edge in volume striking in a fight expected to largely be contested on the feet.

Backs out of fight
Reyes (undisclosed) has withdrawn from his scheduled fight against Carlos Ulberg at UFC Atlantic City, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After being pushed back two months from its original date, Reyes' fight with Ulberg has officially fallen through. Ulberg will instead square off against Alonzo Menifield on March 30.

Returning for UFC 297
Reyes (undisclosed) will take on Carlos Ulberg at UFC 297 on Jan. 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Reyes hasn't fought since November of 2022 and will be set to return after roughly a 14-month absence. He's lost three consecutive fights via knockout, while Ulberg has won five of his six bouts since joining UFC.

Will be out minimum of 90 days
Reyes has been handed a 90-day medical suspension, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Reyes suffered his third consecutive KO defeat last week against Ryan Spann. He will have some time off to regroup and will likely not be in the Octagon again for awhile. It was over a year between his last two bouts.
