Still searching for first UFC win
FlyweightUFC
February 24, 2024
Bondar lost to Ronaldo Rodriguez via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:59 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
It's a crushing loss for Bondar and one that seems quite likely to cost him his roster spot. In a fight that went off as a pick 'em, Bondar looked quite good prior to the finish. He got his wrestling game going early and often, landing 4-of-6 attempts. His issue was his inability to keep Rodriguez planted to the mat. Bondar allowed three reversals and eventually gave up his back, being choked out with just a single second left in Round 2. The 31-year-old Ukrainian falls to 0-3 in the UFC. It's highly unlikely he'll get a fourth opportunity.

Fighting at UFC Vegas 83

November 2, 2023
Bondar will fight Felipe Bunes at UFC Vegas 83 on Jan. 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
After dropping his first two fights since joining the UFC in February 2022, Bondar will match up with an opponent who will be making his debut. Bondar will certainly be desperate for a victory, as dropping to 0-3 could spell trouble for his future in the UFC.
Still seeking first UFC victory

Bondar lost to Carlos Hernandez via technical unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Bondar was actually knocked out with just seconds to go before referee Jerin Valel determined an accidental head clash led to the stoppage. They then went to the scorecards, at which point he dropped a lopsided decision. In a fight contested primarily on the feet, Bondar seemed to get off second in all the striking exchanges between the two men. A submission specialist by trade, Bondar is going to find himself in trouble in prolonged stand-up battles, and this was a perfect example of that. The soon-to-be 31-year-old Ukrainian joined the UFC in February 2022 on the heels of eight straight stoppage wins, but he's lost each of his first two bouts with the company.
Booked to return in June

ANALYSIS
Bondar hasn't fought since Feb. 5, 2022 after he injured his arm in his UFC debut against Malcolm Gordon. Bondar has been labeled as a promising UFC prospect and will look to get on the right track following a long recovery back to the Octagon.
